Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent

and

A minimum of five years of senior management experience in education with significant and progressively complex decision-making responsibility including three years of executive level administrative experience, defined as a position reporting directly to a governing body or chief executive officer and being responsible for a broad operational segment of the organization with significant fiscal and programmatic oversight (e.g. academic affairs, student services, administrative services, college campus)

and

Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices

and

Track-record of community service and involvement

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Senior leadership experience in a large single-community college district.
  • Proven record of successful management of resources, including integrated planning and budget development during both increasing and decreasing budget cycles.
  • Administrative experience at the community college level in one or more areas including academic affairs, student affairs, financial management, human resources/labor relations, faculty, staff and community relations, facilities development, and strategic planning.
  • Faculty experience in instruction or student services, or other leadership experience providing support for the role of faculty that demonstrates a strong understanding of the need for innovative teaching/learning and student development processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience providing support for the comprehensive student experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting student success, basic needs, and academic achievement and success in fostering innovation in academic and workforce programming.
  • Proven experience and success in effectively working and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, classified professionals, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing principles of organization and leadership practices that promote professional excellence among all employees.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the principals and provisions of AB 1725, including its contributions to the current status of shared governance in the California Community Colleges.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively navigating the complexities of the California community college fiscal, policy, legal, and accreditation environment or equivalent.
  • Successful external resource development experience, including bonds, pursuit of grant funding, and community support through partnerships and/or a foundation.
  • Demonstrated experience in community development and collaboration with community partners and external stakeholders.
  • Successful experience in appropriately utilizing and applying applicable data and research finding in decision-making processes.
  • Can provide strategic and innovative leadership on emerging trends and challenges, including artificial intelligence, online education and dual enrollment.
  • Successful experience working with an elected Board of Trustees or equivalent.
