Intercollegiate Athletics Courses (KPEI)

Intercollegiate Athletics courses support athletic development and competitive participation for student-athletes involved in College of the Canyons intercollegiate sports programs.

General Training

KPEI 153 – Off-Season Conditioning for Intercollegiate Sports (1–2 units)
Provides structured strength and conditioning programs designed to support athletic performance during the off-season.

Baseball

KPEI 245A – Intercollegiate Baseball (3 units)
KPEI 245B – Off-Season Baseball Training (2 units)
Focuses on intercollegiate competition and off-season skill development in baseball.

Basketball

KPEI 250A – Intercollegiate Basketball I (1.5 units)
KPEI 250B – Intercollegiate Basketball II (1.5 units)
KPEI 250C – Off-Season Basketball Training (2 units)
Includes fall and spring competition along with off-season conditioning and skill development.

Cross Country

KPEI 255A – Intercollegiate Cross Country (3 units)
KPEI 255B – Off-Season Cross Country Training (2 units)
Provides endurance training, competition, and off-season preparation for cross country athletes.

Volleyball

KPEI 295A – Intercollegiate Volleyball (3 units)

Provides team competition and off-season training for volleyball athletes.
Each course includes supervised practice, conditioning, and intercollegiate competition appropriate to the sport.

Important Note for Intercollegiate Classes

Participation in Intercollegiate Athletics courses is subject to team requirements and eligibility standards.

Students who are interested in actively participating in an intercollegiate sport are encouraged to contact the appropriate head coach prior to registration. Coach contact information can be found in the Kinesiology Department Directory.

Active participation also requires completion of a pre-participation physical examination and compliance with 3C2A eligibility requirements.
