Kinesiology Activity Courses (KPEA)

Kinesiology Activity courses emphasize physical activity, fitness development, and skill instruction. These courses support lifelong wellness, athletic performance, and hands-on learning through participation. Most activity courses are 1 unit and may not be repeated.

Fitness & Conditioning

KPEA 100A – Beginning Circuit Training (1 unit)
Introduces circuit-based workouts designed to improve overall fitness with emphasis on safety and endurance.

KPEA 100B – Advanced Circuit Training (1 unit)
Builds on circuit training concepts with increased intensity and more complex workout designs.

KPEA 101A – Beginning Weight Training (1 unit)
Introduces fundamental weight training techniques with emphasis on proper form and safety.

KPEA 101B – Advanced Weight Training (1 unit)
Focuses on advanced strength and conditioning techniques including power, balance, and flexibility.

KPEA 102 – Running for Fitness (1 unit)
Covers running mechanics, conditioning strategies, and injury prevention principles.

KPEA 103 – Cardio Cross-Training (1 unit)
Uses a variety of cardiovascular and strength-based exercises to improve overall fitness.

KPEA 105A / 105B / 105C – Step Aerobics (1 unit each)
Provides cardiovascular conditioning through progressively challenging step-based movement.

KPEA 107A / 107B / 107C – Stretching for Flexibility and Relaxation (1 unit each)
Focuses on flexibility, mobility, and relaxation through progressive stretching techniques.

KPEA 125A / 125B / 125C – Walking for Fitness (1 unit each)
Introduces and advances structured walking programs to improve cardiovascular health.

Individual Sports

KPEA 165A / 165B / 165C – Golf (1 unit each)
Develops golf skills, rules, etiquette, and strategy across progressive levels.

KPEA 185A / 185B / 185C – Tennis (1 unit each)
Introduces and advances tennis fundamentals, match play, and strategy.
